As Vice President, Mr. Konas is responsible for working with the development team in coordinating and executing all aspects of the development process from initial underwriting through disposition. Mr. Konas joined The Worthing Companies in 2020 bringing an extensive background in multifamily capital markets. Prior to joining The Worthing Companies, Mr. Konas was an Associate at Holliday Fenoglio Fowler’s Atlanta office specializing in multifamily investment sales across the Southeast. While at HFF, Mr. Konas assisted institutional clients in the disposition and capitalization of more than 14,500 units valued at over $2.5B. Mr. Konas is actively involved in the Atlanta commercial real estate community having served as Board Member and President of the Atlanta Chapter for the Association of Young Real Estate Professionals (AYREP) from 2016 to 2020. A native Atlantan, Mr. Konas is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Finance.
Responsible for strategic planning, risk management and major investment decisions Mr. Echols has been personally involved in all aspects of multifamily development, finance and construction, since he founded the company in 1986. He remains an active and integral part of the decision making process for each development project and personally reviews projects through each major phase of planning, financing, design, construction and lease up. During his real estate career, which started in Dallas, Texas in 1972, Mr. Echols has successfully developed more than 50,000 luxury apartment units in major cities throughout the United States. Embracing a diligent work ethic and a total commitment to product quality Mr. Echols has built a substantial track record of high quality successful multifamily developments. Mr. Echols is an active member of the Urban Land Institute (Multi-Family Residential Council Bronze), The National Multi Housing Council, NAIOP, The National Apartment Association and numerous other civic and professional associations. He devotes time to various charities and educational institutions and has served on many advisory panels and committees. In 1972, Mr. Echols received his BBA from the University of Texas, Austin, Texas.
Darin W. Collier is a Partner and President of The Worthing Companies. Mr. Collier is responsible of the day-to-day operations of Worthing and is actively involved in the conception, capitalization and execution of all development projects sponsored by the company. Mr. Collier has broad experience in the areas of multifamily development, acquisitions and dispositions, project capitalization, partnerships and joint ventures, entitlements, construction, and property operations. Mr. Collier is a past President of the Atlanta Apartment Association, and has served in numerous director and officer roles with various multifamily and business organizations, including the Georgia Apartment Association and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Collier is very active in legislative affairs affecting the development and multifamily industries, having served on Governor of Georgia's Water Rights Task Force, the Georgia Senate's Impact Fee Advisory Committee, and the National Multi-Housing Council's GSE Futures Task Force. He is also the past chairperson of the Georgia Better Government Fund, the political action committee for the multifamily industry in Georgia.
As Executive Vice President of The Worthing Companies Mr. McGwier is responsible for all development and acquisition activities undertaken by the company. As such, he leads and directs the activities of others both inside and outside the company who make up the team involved in developing and acquiring properties throughout the Southern United States. Mr. McGwier joined The Worthing Companies in 2011 and brings over 32 years of experience in development, construction and management of multifamily apartment communities. Prior to joining the Worthing Companies Mr. McGwier served as the Senior Managing Director for the Southeast Division of Mill Creek Residential Trust LLC (MCRT). Mr. McGwier’s responsibilities included development, construction and financing of multifamily developments, including 22 years spent in leadership roles at Trammell Crow Residential (TCR). As Executive Managing Director, Mr. McGwier was responsible for all development, construction, management and acquisition activities for the Southeast Region. . Mr. McGwier's tenure at TCR began in 1981 when he became Vice President, Construction for the Southeast Division. Mr. McGwier relocated to the Maryland office of TCR as a Development Partner in the Mid-Atlantic Division. In this role, he managed the development of over 1,300 apartment units, including TCR's first high-rises, The Chase at Bethesda. In 1990, Mr. McGwier relocated to Atlanta and served as Vice President, Operations for TCR's Southeast Division. In this capacity, he was responsible for the property operations and management of more than 13,000 apartment units in Atlanta, Memphis and Nashville. Mr. McGwier began his career in 1978 with Henry C. Beck Company, an international real estate and construction company. Mr. McGwier is a graduate of Auburn University with a degree in Construction Management. Mr. McGwier is the past president of the Atlanta and Georgia Apartment Associations. He is a current member of ULI.
Bernard Mannelly joined The Worthing Companies in 2006. As the Senior Development Manager, Mr. Mannelly is responsible for the origination of new developments and all other development related activities. These include pre-construction, design development, zoning, entitlement, and permit activities and all other duties and responsibilities required prior to the beginning of construction. Prior to joining Worthing, Mr. Mannelly was a managing director at Bullock Mannelly Partners, a boutique real estate brokerage firm specializing in capital formation and land brokerage. Previously, he was with Bank of America as a part of their Structured Debt Group, which provided structured finance products for some of the country’s largest and most successful REITs, and as an originator for their Permanent Loan Group, which provided fixed rate, non-recourse mortgages throughout the Southeast. Mr. Mannelly received a BBA from the University of Notre Dame in 1992 and received his MBA from Georgia State University in 2002.
As Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Wall's role includes oversight of the corporate finance and accounting areas, Human Resources and Risk Management as well as involvement with the capital market relationships. She is responsible for tax and partnership reporting activities. Prior to joining Worthing in 2006, Ms. Wall served as Director of Finance at The Atlanta Housing Authority. Since 1989, she has held senior management roles in various real estate companies including fourteen years with TMW Real Estate, then a privately held German owned company, and has significant experience in almost all facets of commercial real estate management, investment and development. Ms. Wall graduated with high honors at Kennesaw State University in 1987, receiving a BA in Accounting. She is a CPA and holds the CCIM designation. Faye is a member of the AICPA, GSCPA, and CCIM organizations.
James Beasley joined The Worthing Companies in January 2013 as Regional Director. In Mr. Beasley’s role as Regional Director, he supervises multiple Community Directors and is responsible for all budget preparation, financial reporting, market analysis, and promotional efforts. Mr. Beasley has been involved in the multifamily industry since 2001 with extensive experience at both on-site property and executive levels. Prior to joining Worthing, James began his property management career with Post Properties, gaining valuable experience at many different operational levels including Assistant Manager, Property Manager and IT Systems Support and Training. He also acquired industry experience as a part of several other well respected Atlanta based management firms including IT Systems Trainer at Williams Residential Management, Regional Manager at Vista Realty Partners, and most recently Regional Portfolio Manager at First Communities. Mr. Beasley is very involved with several local volunteer and charitable organizations in Atlanta and is the 2012 Leukemia & Lymphoma Society Atlanta Chapter Man of the Year. He also holds his real estate license with the State of Georgia Real Estate Commission.
Mr. Pryles joined Worthing Southeast Builders in February 2012 as a Senior Project Manager responsible for project administration, including working with both the construction and development teams to create an atmosphere where the highest quality product can be achieved on time and within budget. In 2015 Mr. Pryles left Worthing Southeast Builders to pursue an opportunity as an Owner/Developer for his own multifamily projects. He rejoined Worthing Southeast Builders team in 2019 as an Executive Vice President. Prior to joining Worthing Southeast Builders in 2012, Mr. Pryles spent 28 years with The A. G. Spanos Companies where he was Division Manager in Atlanta and Charlotte, NC. While there, Mr. Pryles was responsible for site selection, project development and the construction management of multiple multifamily projects in the southeast and along the east coast. Mr. Pryles is a 1982 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree, is a licensed General Contractor in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina and is a member of the executive committee on the parish council at his church.
Leyna Schmitz joined The Worthing Companies in April of 2013 as a Marketing Representative. Ms. Schmitz relocated to Durham, NC where she was a part of the new development lease-up team for communities in the Duke University and Research Triangle Park markets. In 2015, Ms. Schmitz returned to Atlanta as the Assistant Community Director of a new development in West Midtown. She was promoted to the position of Regional Project Manager where she leads due diligence efforts, dispositions, and executes portfolio wide initiatives. Ms. Schmitz received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from the University of Georgia’s Terry College of Business and is a member of the Atlanta Apartment Association.
Michael Fisher joined The Worthing Companies in January of 2013. After graduation from Georgia Tech in May of 2013, Mr. Fisher moved to Durham, NC to work as a Marketing Representative at a Worthing lease-up. Mr. Fisher relocated back to Atlanta and holds the position of Regional Project Manager where he leads due diligence efforts, dispositions, and executes portfolio wide initiatives. Prior to joining Worthing, Michael played baseball at Georgia Tech from 2005-2007. After his junior year, he was drafted by the Atlanta Braves and played in for both the Braves and the New York Mets minor league systems, reaching AAA with the Buffalo Bisons (Mets). He received his BSBA in Finance from Georgia Tech’s Scheller College of Business and was a student member of IREM.
As Chief Operating Officer of Worthing Southeast Builders Mr. Ingram oversees all day-to-day activities of Worthing’s design/development and general contracting business unit. Mr. Ingram’s construction experience encompasses a broad range of residential and mixed use projects including both high density mid-rise and low-rise conventional developments. Mr. Ingram brings over 25 years of experience specializing in the construction of investment grade apartment and condominium projects in major markets throughout the United States. With a broad range of expertise in every major phase of construction, design and development he has the skill and experience needed to successfully complete all Worthing sponsored construction projects. Prior to joining Worthing Southeast Builders in 1987 he served as Vice President of VRI Builders, Inc. a Texas based general contractor of multifamily developments with construction operations throughout the United States. Mr. Ingram is involved in the Atlanta Apartment Association, the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association, and other civic and professional associations. He currently holds general contracting licenses in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Florida. Mr. Ingram is also a LEED Accredited Professional certified by the USGBC. Mr. Ingram is a 1977 graduate of Tarleton State University.
As Vice President of Operations, Ms. Carstarphen oversees the day-to-day office activities including financial reporting and administrative operations of the company. She also manages the project job cost reporting and budgeting while interfacing with Project Managers and Field personnel as needed. Ms. Carstarphen also implements Worthing Southeast Builders safety program and interfaces with the project staff to coordinate all field offices and procedures. She works closely with various city, county, and state municipalities for project permitting needs, licensing requirements and various jurisdictional regulations. She is also responsible for identifying entitlement costs in target markets. Ms. Carstarphen joined Worthing Southeast Builders in 1992. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelors of Arts degree in 1992 and is fluent in Spanish.
As Design Development Coordinator, Mr. O’Brien is responsible for the management of the design process for all new development projects, acting as the liaison between Development and Construction to ensure the timely and accurate handoff of complete documents to the construction team. Mr. O’Brien joined The Worthing Companies in 2012 and brings an extensive and diverse background in architectural design, construction management and real estate development over the course of his twenty five year career. Prior to joining The Worthing Companies, Mr. O’Brien managed design and construction projects from Texas to Connecticut as Director of Development for Ronus Properties. Mr. O’Brien began his career as a commercial architect in Atlanta with TVS Design. Mr. O’Brien is a 1985 graduate from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Masters in Architecture.
As Senior Project Manager, Mr. Carr is responsible for estimating, buyout, contract negotiation, project administration, and the oversight of multifamily construction activities. Mr. Carr directs his team to ensure delivery of "A" level apartment and condominium homes while maintaining quality, schedule and budget. Prior to joining Worthing Southeast Builders in 1996, Mr. Carr was Senior Project Manager with Realty Construction Corporation, where his responsibilities included multiple projects in Georgia, Alabama, Florida and Texas. Mr. Carr began his multifamily career in 1984 with Calibre Company of Georgia where he worked in the Atlanta area supervising the construction of both apartment and condominium projects. Mr. Carr is a 1978 graduate of Spring Garden College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Engineering Technology.
Mr. Roberds joined Worthing Southeast Builders in 2013 as a Finish Superintendent where he oversaw subcontractors during the finish out of apartment units. He was also responsible for coordinating the turnover process with the management team. Later he moved to the corporate office where he served as an Assistant Project Manager before transitioning to a Project Manager in 2019. As a Project Manager he is responsible for the overall project schedule and budget through estimating, buyout, contract negotiations, project administration and oversight of subcontractor’s scope of work. Mr. Roberds graduated in 2013 with a Business degree from LaGrange College, where he also played on the baseball team.
As Senior Project Manager, Mr. Smith is directly responsible for overall project performance from buyout to scheduling and owner acceptance. He works consistently with each project team to insure the best quality product on time and within budget. Prior to joining Worthing Southeast Builders in 1998, Mr. Smith was Director of Construction for Julian LeCraw & Co., Inc. in Atlanta, GA., where Mr. Smith was personally involved in the construction of multifamily projects throughout the southeast as both a Project Manager and Director of Construction. Prior to Julian LeCraw & Co., Mr. Smith worked as a Project Manager for several hotel developers throughout the country as well as a lender’s consultant for various banking institutions. Mr. Smith is a 1973 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree and is a member of the Atlanta Area Apartment Association and other civic and professional associations.
Ms. Patel joined Worthing Southeast Builders in March, 2019 as an Assistant Project Manager responsible for working with Project Manager’s to coordinate with design team and subcontractors. Ms. Patel’s goal is to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget while adhering to the plans to deliver the best quality product. Prior to joining Worthing Southeast Builders, Ms. Patel worked for Winter Companies as a Project Engineer working on ground-up construction on senior living centers.
Ms. Patel earned her Bachelor’s degree in 2016 in Building Construction from Georgia Institute of Technology.
Mr. Mosqueda joined Worthing Southeast Builders in May 2016 as an Assistant Superintendent responsible for supervising multiple trades on-site, and monitoring compliance with safety codes. In 2017 Mr. Mosqueda was promoted to Assistant Project Manager responsible for project scheduling, sub-contractor bid analysis, quantity take-offs, purchase orders, and RFI’s. Prior to joining Worthing Southeast Builders Mr. Mosqueda worked part-time through the University of Monterrey as a BIM Structural Designer. Mr. Mosqueda earned a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering in 2015 from Monterrey Institute of Technology in Monterrey, Mexico, prior to earning this degree he studied Civil Engineering and Regional Planning at the Technical University Dortmund in Germany in 2013. He earned his Master’s Degree in Building Construction and Facility Management in 2016 from Georgia Institute of Technology. Mr. Mosqueda is a certified Engineer-In-Training by the Board of Professional Engineers for the State of California, a member of various Civil Engineering and Hispanic Associations, as well as a volunteer construction worker for Atlanta Habitat for Humanity.
Mr. Greene was promoted in 2013 to Chief Estimator. His responsibilities include developing comprehensive project estimates for all of Worthing Southeast Builders projects. Additional duties include analyzing take-off quantities, conceptual estimating, and overall project buy out. Mr. Greene joined Worthing Southeast Builders in 2005 as an intern while attending Auburn University. He continued to work summers and vacations while in school. He joined Worthing Southeast Builders full time in May 2011 as an Assistant Project Manager. He is directly involved with estimating, buyouts, and contract negotiations. Mr. Greene studied Civil Engineering with a concentration in Construction Engineering and Management at Auburn University.
